Assigning Materials/colors to 2d geometries

Description

I am not completely sure, but the only function to apply a material on a geometry seems to be materialG, and it only applies to Geometry3.

It seems as though you can't color/put materials on geometry2's

Yes, you're correct in that materials can't be applied to 2D geometry. Some aspects of materials, like specular colors, don't make sense in a 2D universe. I wonder if there is some subset of fieldtrip's material properties that would apply to a 2D world.

You probably already were aware of this, but I want to note that by converting 2D geometry to 3D you can set the material.
