= Alt-stdlib =

This is a project to write a new Haskell standard library from scratch with no concern for backward compatibility. We are currently in the early stages, establishing the [wiki:Goals goals] for the project. The repository is merely a sandbox for ideas, at the moment.

We are currently hosting a [http://patch-tag.com/r/jmcarthur/alt-stdlib darcs project] on [http://patch-tag.com/ Patch-tag]. There is [http://code.haskell.org/alt-stdlib/ another repository] in case Patch Tag goes down or anything, but it's not necessarily as up to date as the one on Patch Tag. We also have a [http://projects.haskell.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/alt-stdlib mailing list]. You can also join the #alt-stdlib channel on Freenode for live discussion. Feel free to get involved, especially during these very early stages when your voice can make the most difference.
