I haven't checked this for a while, not sure if it's still working. Need to add tests to make sure support for ticky counters doesn't rot.

When a program, say main () = (), is built with a devel_prof build of the compiler, linking fails with a bunch of errors that _applym_n does not exist for a bunch of values of m and n. The distro and devel builds do not show the problem.
