Windows install creates unusable directory

Reported by: mcastse Owned by: refold
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: Windows installer Keywords:

Windows install of 2013.2.0.0 creates a directory for documents: C:\Program Files\Haskell Platform\2013.2.0.0\doc\html\users_guide which it has no permission to use, and so no documents are placed there. This directory is extremely difficult to remove, even as an administrator, since Windows 7 does not recognise any owner for it. The files can be extracted and put in the right place by 7zip, for example.

Replying to mcastse: I installed HP 2013.2.0.0 on Windows 7 Professional SP1 today without experiencing this problem. I previously had installed HP 2012.4.0.0 on the machine, but I uninstalled it before attempting the new install. Note, however, that there were still some module-x.y.z.conf files in the 2012.4.0.0 subdirectory. (Perhaps this explains why I got different results.) I am a local administrator of the computer.
