Cannot install platform (2009.2.0.2) on Fedora 11 with GHC 6.10.4 after successful make

OS: Fedora 11
GHC: 6.10.4
Platform: 2009.2.0.2

I can successfully run configure and make, but I get the following error when running make install: 

scripts/install.sh
Installing mtl-1.1.0.2...
Installing library in /usr/local/lib/mtl-1.1.0.2/ghc-6.10.3
Setup: Error: Could not find module: Control.Monad.Cont with any suffix:
["p_hi"]

Error:
Installing the mtl-1.1.0.2 component failed
make: *** [install] Error 2

please find attached config.log I have no idea how to read this, it's a bit beyond my ken but happy to supply other details or files as necessary.

I just note that Fedora 11 provides ghc-6.10.3 and haskell-platform-2009.2.0.1.

(F12 has ghc-6.10.4 and haskell-platform-2009.2.0.2.)
