Description

With lots of garbage created during an interactive session, pauses for gc become very noticeable and processor usage of GHC is very high. Line-editor of GHCi (thanks to Haskelline I think) loses keypresses when several keys are hit quickly after a pause.

Thanks for the report. The behavior of losing keypresses sounds like a bug which has been fixed in the latest release of Haskeline, and will be used by ghc-6.10.4. Can you please run:

cabal update
cabal install ghci-haskeline

(You may want to run cabal install --user ghci-haskeline instead if you get permission errors.)

Those commands should give you a ghci-haskeline program; please let us know whether it still presents those problems or whether they have been fixed.
